Thursday 22 June 2017 at 10:00 the Airport Breakfast @ Airport Žilina was held at Žilina Airport. This event presented a modern type of approach using the Galileo and EGNOS satellite navigation, its benefits and opportunities for commercial air operators.
The system was created to provide safety of life navigation services to aviation, maritime and land-based users. The EGNOS signal is free and is here to stay. EGNOS has been certified for civil aviation since 2011 and its geographic reach has – and continues to be – extended.
EGNOS is used in various market segments. . EGNOS is also very beneficial in agriculture as it empowers applications used for precision farming. Moreover, EGNOS is capable of on-road vehicle management and navigating ships through narrow channels.
